2300-XX stations use Modbus RTU protocol, but are managed as "MicroScan" stations thus are supported by
2300-XX stations cannot be put on the same data loop as older Intech Stations.
Network connections to 2300-XX stations are supported via 2300-NET. When stations are attached via 2300-NET, the MicroScan software manages them as normal stations, but talks to them in Modbus TCP. The 2300-NET then converts the Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU on its serial lines for communications.
The 2300-NET is used to connect 2300-XX to Ethernet. Microscan uses port 502 (Modbus TCP) port and the 2300-NET converts the Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU on the data loop.
The 2300-XX stations will work with any version of MicroScan (such as a Lite 8,16, 32, Recorder and Tag packages), save for Lite software which is limited to four stations of any station type supported by MicroScan. The 2300-XX station, although it uses the Modbus RTU protocol, does not need the Modbus RTU PLC driver installed as it is natively supported by the MicroScan Interface.
