Definitions and Limitations of MicroScan Passives |
Network Passive
Views and displays data from a single active.
The most powerful passive (includes passive alarm monitor, ability to remote clear and set alarms setpoints and enables, view comments entered when alarms cleared).
Dongle Required: No (supplied by active PXX)
Composite Passive
Views and displays data from multiple actives.
The least functional passive pages - can only view data from the pages, not clear alarms, change setpoints and enables, not view comments entered from other actives.
Dongle Required: No (supplied by active PXX)
Network Combo
A network active that has passive pages that can view data from other active pages.
The least functional passive pages - can only view data from the pages, not clear alarms, not view comments from other actives.
Dongle Required: Yes. Standard Microscan licence with at least a P1 licence.
Super Passive
A passive that allows more than one V5 passive to be run on one machine at a
time. Can also run 1 and only 1 active on the pc at the same time. The passive
can be either a standard passive or composite passive.
The Super Passive is started by using a /B command line to start v5 - see Setting
up a MicroScan Super Passive.
Dongle Required: No (supplied by active PXX)
Passive Dongle Usage
Note: Each passive being run uses up 1 of the PXX lic on an active. Thus on a P5 system up to 5 passives can be run at the same time.
