To add Shimaden Controllers to an existing RS422 system, you must make the system into a RS485 system as follows:

1. Change the links on the 2100-A16 for RS485 operation (links in L3 and L4 positions).

2. Changes the switches on the 2100-IS for RS485 operation (S2 1,2,3,4 ON).

3. Wire the shimaden controllers with three wires as follows:

70    -
71    +
74    SG

Note: all three wires must be connected - terminal 74 may not be connected to the A16.

4. Set the shimaden controllers for 8 bits, no parity, 9600 baud, and choose a machine number.

5. Use of older IN2000-IS converters for RS485 is not recommended.
