Why is Microscan Not a service ?

1. When Microscan was first written as 16 bit, no services existed.

2. Services need to be updated as each new version of windows are released.

3. Services require more admin support for running/changing.

4. Services do not have a user interface thus a logged on user account must be used with a separate running program to announce alarms etc.

5. As 32 bit desktop application we have had a fair degree of success in isolating customers from the changes required as new versions of windows are released.
