When doing a backup to move software from one machine to another, use Setup Tools, Backup Job Settings.

Specify a destination path for the active.

Click Include Store Data ON.

Leave Fast Backup ON (this setting makes the zipping operation keep the archive open and add files automatically. If this setting is OFF, microscan adds files to the zip archive one by one and this becomes very slow as the archive grows as the program must add the file and then update the directory info for the file in two steps).

NOTE:

Version 5 does not have a unzipped backup option as in V4 - the only way to do this is to close V5, and copy the whole c:\microscan folder from the old computer to the new computer.
