MA5 Checklist for using with MicroScan

1. A MA5 licence must be installed (view on Setup Tools, in status bar at bottom of window).

2. When using a SIM card, activate the SIM card in a mobile phone and send a test text message using the mobile phone before putting in the MC35. Then on MA5 Server, use Setup, Send Test Txt Msg to check the MA5 to MC35 to mobile phone connection works. If the SIM card is not activated you will not be able to send a message via MC35.
The activation sequence can be started by dialing a voice phone number with the SIM card in a mobile phone. If the SIM card is not activated you will be stepped through activation by recorded voice messages.

3. When using USB Serial converter, check the computer will reboot with USB serial installed, you may need to go into the computers bios setup and turn OFF USB keyboard and USB mouse support.

4. You can use the MA5 to send email only messages, on MA5 Server Setup, set the GSM Modem COM Port to 0.

5. It is not possible to step through a list of users automatically if the first user has his phone turned off (MA5 does not get a notification that the phone was turned off).

6. It is not possible to clear alarms via the MA5 email system (sends message only).

7. MA5 email setup is done via smtp email access, thus you need the smtp address of your email account on your ISP connection (such as smtp.xtra.co.nz).

8. For email of messages, You may need to allow internet access to programs with your anti virus software, allow access for the program blat.exe

9. MA5 requires Microsoft .Net 2.0 to be installed.

10. DO NOT upgrade to .NET SP1. Very Important.
