FAQ

Could Not Upgrade Version 5 Files

When upgrading a computer with Version 5 on it, the DLL files could not be replaced (not even by a manual copy and paste from files on a CD).

Something in Version 5 was causing the DLL files to be left open, cause yet to be determined.

Solution:

1. Go to Setup Tools, click Program Startup and turn off "Start MicroScan When Windows Starts", click OK, Close Version 5.

2. Restart Computer.

3. Install Version 5 Update.

4. Go to Setup Tools, click Program Startup and turn on "Start MicroScan When Windows Starts", click OK.

Unlike Version 4 Setup Manager, turning off modules in System Programs does not stop different parts of version 5 from starting as all Version 5 modules are in the same program.

Debugging Steps:

Close Version 5, and check in Task Manager Processes Tabs to see what V5 files are left in memory. Supply a Tools Backup To intech so debug steps can be done.
