When adding new stations to MicroScan:

• Wire the comms in parallel to the existing station (i.e terminal 70 to 70, 71 to 71 etc)
  The stations RX LED should flash when it is connected to the data loop, to indicate that the RX data is connected correctly. This will happen even though the station will not be addressed yet.
  
• The first step in software is to assign the station a station number. THIS MUST BE DONE FIRST before doing anything else in the software to setup for using the new station.
  Factory programmed stations are assigned to station number 1. They must be assigned to a new station number to prevent a conflict with an existing station 1 on the data loop.

Version 4:

Start Setup Manager

Click Recorder Setup

Click Program Address

Enter the Station  Serial Number (written on lid of station)
Enter a new station number (the next free station number, such as 2 if 1 station already on site, or three if two stations already in use)
Click Program to program the station number to the station.
Use Program Station Setup to configure the station.

Use Find Stations (System Setup, MicroScan Interface, Find Stations to look for stations on the data loop).

Version  5:

On Setup Tools, Use Add Station Wizard to add the station to the system, the wizard will auto allocate the next free station number for you.

Use Program Station  Setups to configure the station.

Use Find Stations (MicroScan Interface link, Find Stations) to find stations on a data loop.

When Version 5 starts assigning station numbers, it starts at station 2, the next station to be added will be 3 and the next 4 etc. This prevents conflicts when new factory programmed stations are added to an existing data loop.

Station Lights:

When adding a station, the stations RX led should always flash to indicate data is being sent (it is normally OFF and flashes on when data is present).
If this LED does not flash it indicates incorrect wiring, short circuits or the computer is not sending out data (i.e MicroScan not running).
