Recorder Retransmission

The Recorder RTX program is used to support Version 4 jobs that used the Recorder Retransmission feature to send data from recorder lines out to remote stations or PLCs.

This feature was retained in Version 5 with limited setup support to ease the upgrade of Version 4 jobs with retransmission to Version 5. New jobs should use the retransmission feature built into Tags.

Retransmission values are written to the outputs every 5 seconds.

NOTE: Recorder RTX is supported only on recorders 1-5. They are called Recorders in this information as that is the reference in version 4, but in version 5, they actually refer to sets of pages as follows.

Recorder 1 Pages 1-10
Recorder 2 Pages 11-20
Recorder 3 Pages 21-30
Recorder 4 Pages 31-40
Recorder 5 Pages 41-50

To edit retransmission settings, the RTX Setup Program is used.

To enable retransmission, click File, Setup Files, and enable rtx for the required recorders.

Example showing retransmission enabled on Recorder 1.

To Edit Settings, click File, Recorder 1.

To enable settings for rtx, select the line, click Enable. Enter an address and scale mode from (1:1,*10,*100,/10,/100).
The address is worked out from the main editing window - enter the test password and addresses for output locations are shown in the middle of the page and line or tag display - you may need to create some dummy tags pointing to the i/o location so you can see what the address will be (displayed as interface/station/slot/channel/bit).

When RTX is enabled, V5 displays an extra window that shows the rtx values and the addresses the data will be sent to.

Example setup

Tags showing output addresses (with test password entered)

RTX status window showing line values and the address to which the data will be sent.
