Tag Counts

When the MicroScan uses a Tag dongle (TXXXX) in its code, the Tag Counting mode is used to control the number of points to be used.

Method to calculate tags used (Each unique location used counts as a tag, as shown below)

An analogue Tag using a station location or PLC location counts as one tag.
A Digital Tag using a station location or PLC location counts as one tag.
Each Digital bit within a word, if used by a tag counts as a tag.
A Recorder Line that connects to a station location or PLC location counts as one tag.
Once a tag location has been used, it can be used any number of times in
- Recordings by lines
- Mimic Analogue, bargraph or Digital displays
- Mimic buttons or hotspots or recipe controls

The following do not count towards tag counts

Math Tags
No Scan tags
Math Lines
Lines attached to tags
Tags or lines with repeated addresses count only as one tag (i.e T1 connects to DM100 is one tag, if P1L5 is attached to DM100, that still counts as one tag).
Controllers in Shimaden Monitor do not count towards tags.

When editing the setups, the tag count is applied using Configure Tags or Configure Pages and Lines and creating new tags is restricted once the tag count has been reached.
