Here at Intech we have a large variety of sensors for many different industries and applications, with the most common measurement sensor being the temperature probe. Temperature is the most common value of interest, and Intech stocks or can manufacuture bespoke probes to suit every application imaginable.
RTDs are by far the most accurate temperature probe type available (±0.15°C), with a typical temperature range of -200~300°C.
The most commonly used RTD is the Pt100, so named due to the fact that the element material is usually Platinum (chemical symbol ‘Pt’), and because at a temperature of 0°C it provides an electrical resistance of 100ohms.
Without getting too technical, thermocouples are very simple devices that operate via the principle ‘thermoelectric effect’; two different alloys that produce a voltage proportional to a temperature difference.
Thermocouples with ‘Compression Fitting MTH-LH’ tend to be popular because they are inexpensive, interchangeable, are supplied with standard connectors, and can measure a wide range of temperatures; -185~2,320°C.
However, we recommend RTD’s for more accurate temperature readings below 500°C.
