Overview>Roster, Shifts and Alarm Groups
How it works: Roster, Shifts and Alarm Groups
- The Alarm Group is the reference that Microscan uses when assigning alarms for the Mobile Alarming 5 program. Up to 16 Alarm Groups may be created giving the ability to divide the site into various areas of responsibility and importance.
- Within the MA5, each Alarm Group is assigned one of the many Rosters which may be created.
- Each Roster includes a sub section for each shift which has been created.
- To each Roster\Shift is assigned the users that are to be notified in the event of an alarm.
The following diagram illustrates the steps that happen to determine which users should receive a new alarm message:
Hint: If the users are being changed on a regular basis such as weekends or shut downs then create a new Roster and simply re-assign the Roster to the Alarm Group instead of changing the users within each Roster/Shift.
