2300 Comms Fail

The 2300-XX support Comms fail alarms using an output relay on 2300-RO4 or digital output on 2300-MULTI

The comms fail is supported using the Watchdog Timer on 2300-XX output stations. Using a Recorder Alarm Relay attached to the required relay to be used as a comms fail indicator, click the check box "Relay Always ON". This makes Microscan turn ON the relay on MicroScan Start, and it will also be updated to ON when the Recorders Alarm Relay Auto Update occurs.

Thus if the microscan stops, computer stops or the comms is broken for any reason, the Watchdog timer on the 2300 station will time out and it will turn the relay OFF. The watchdog timer will also turn OFF all relays on the station, regardless if they have been nominated for comms fail or not.

Comms Fail information dialog accessed by clicking Comms Fail Alarm on 2300-RO4 or 2300-MULTI Station Setup dialogs.

NOTE: Unlike 2100-XX comms fail relays which are controlled solely by the 2100-XX station, the 2300 comms fail relay is Turned ON by the MicroScan Software and OFF by the Stations Watchdog timer. Thus until the MicroScan has started and issued it relay update commands the relay used will be OFF.

Notes: Any Relay(s) on the 2100-RO4 or 2300-MULTI can be used as an output
