Module Management (End User,
Agent and Demo Mode) |
|
The Select Module Wizard is
used to control the modules used by the MicroScan software.
The MicroScan software runs in one of three modes
- End User Mode
The software is installed and used by an End User.
The modules are specified by the licence purchased by the user.
You use the Register Software Wizard to create and install an End Users
Licence.
Choosing Modules:
When the trial
licence is in use, you can specify the modules that will be used until the
software is registered.
You should choose modules according to those that you have purchased.
Modules that have been used and are not part of the End Users licence will
be turned off when the licence is installed.
- Agent / Integrator Mode
The software is installed on an integrators computer for setting up and
online testing.
The modules are set by the Select Module Wizard.
Software registration is not required. The software operates for 4 hours and
stops. Close and start the software again for another 4 hours of operation.
This allows the integrator to install, test and use the software for limited
time periods on computers in his office or laptops without needing to register the
software.
- Demo Mode
The software is installed on an integrators computer for Demonstrating
software.
The modules are set by the Select Module Wizard.
Software registration is not required. The software operates indefinitely.
How do I view what mode is being used ?
You can see the mode used on the Status bar at the bottom of the Setup Tools
screen.
It will show "Licensed Modules" for End User mode and
"Agent" and "Demo" for Agent and Demo mode respectively.
Why are there End User, Agent and Demo modes ?
The modes are designed to allow the software to operate with or without
software registration.
The End User mode allows the software to be run on a pc, and is required to be
registered for correct operation.
The Agent mode is designed to allow an agent or integrator to install and use
the software in their office, on several pcs without the need for software
registration. A time limit is enforced to stop the software after 4 hours of
operation.
The Demo mode allows demonstration or training of the software without the need
for software registration.
