ZigBee Sleeper Status |
The ZigBee Sleeper Status window shows the current sleeper status.
For some examples of status information, see ZigBee Sleeper Status Example.
The information displayed by each tab is shown below
The status information displayed is read on the minute, and updated to this
display five seconds later (as shown by the Next Update Time).
Input readings are read at 10 seconds prior to a minute change (i.e at 50
seconds) in order to have values ready for the next graph save.
Current Sleeper Count
The number of Sleepers currently connected to bases.
New Sleeper Connections Today
The number of times sleepers have been reconnected to bases today (the count
is reset to zero at midnight).
A large number increasing during the day gives a quick indication that the
sleepers are having trouble maintaining connection to the base. For further
information, see the Connection History tab.
Current Status
Shows the status of the currently connected sleepers
Item | Meaning |
Base | The Base that the sleeper is located on |
Sleeper | The sleeper number (as set by its address switch) |
Status | Connected - the sleeper has joined the base and is updating
data Not Found - the sleeper is not updating the base anymore, see ZigBee TroubleShooting |
Last Update | The time of last update (will be set to the nearest minute as this is how often MicroScan checks the base for sleeper activity) |
Good TX | The number of good updates from the sleeper since the last MicroScan restart. |
Update | The update interval as set by sleeper dip switches (from 1,2,5,15,30,60 minutes) |
Access | Shows if the sleeper is attached to any MicroScan lines/tags Yes - the sleeper is being addressed No - the sleeper is not being addressed (i.e the sleeper has been found on the base, but it has not yet been assigned to lines or tags). |
RX Sig % | Gives a rx signal strength in % of the last sleeper update message |
LQ % | Gives a Link Quality value in %, that should normally be 100 %. If this value frequently varies from 100 % the sleeper is not maintaining a good radio signal and alternative aerials/ZigBee locations should be investigated. |
Min | The Minimum LQ value since last MicroScan restart |
Max | The Maximum LQ value since last MicroScan restart |
Ave | The Average LQ value since last MicroScan restart |
If any of the sleepers stop updating, the status window will appear to indicate sleeper not updating, the sleepers not updating will shown "Not Found".

Note the Sleeper Input ranges are set by the XU Setup program and cannot be set via MicroScan. See Setup Sleeper Inputs.

Shows the current input values of the attached sleepers. Values shown here are read 50 seconds prior to a minute change and may be different from the values shown in the Base Program Station Setup Dialog.
Item | Meaning |
Base | The Base that the sleeper is located on |
Sleeper | The sleeper number (as set by its address switch) |
CH1 Reading | The Value of CH1 at last data update time |
CH2 Reading | The Value of CH2 at last data update time |
Battery Monitor
Shows the current battery values of the sleepers
Note: The display cannot determine the difference between a plug pack powered sleeper and a battery powered sleeper.
Item | Meaning |
Base | The Base that the sleeper is located on |
Sleeper | The sleeper number (as set by its address switch) |
Voltage | The battery voltage (normally above 3 V) |
Status | Text message indicating comparison to the Sleepers Low Battery Warning (Battery OK or Battery LOW) |
If any of the attached sleepers are indicating low battery, the status window will popup and display the Battery Monitor tab.
Battery Log
The Battery log records the sleepers battery voltage at midnight each day.
Item | Meaning |
Date | Date of recorded entry |
Time | Time of recorded entry |
Base | The Base that the sleeper is located on |
Sleeper | The sleeper number (as set by its address switch) |
Voltage | The Battery Voltage |
Connection History
A list of base sleeper/remote connects and disconnects from its node list.
