Interfaces are used to support communications to outstations / PLCs. The MicroScan software supports the following interfaces:

• MicroScan Interface
  
  2100-A16, 2100-A4, 2100-A4e, 2100-D, 2100-AO.
  IN2000-AI, IN2000-DI, IN2000-DO, IN2000-AO.
  
  Shimaden Controllers (Old Protocols)
  SR25, FP21, SR50, SR70A, SD16, SR253 (as SrFP Protocol).
  
  Shimaden Controllers (Shimaden Standard Protocol - RS485 only)
  SR80, SR90, FP93, SR23, FP23, SD20, MR13, SR253 (as Standard Protocol).
  
  All Shimaden Controllers should be set to 8 Bits, No Parity.
  Set SR50's to Normal Protocol (Option Group 7, prtC=noml).
  
  
• PLC Interfaces
  
  Note : Use of the PLC interfaces requires a Tag or PLC software licence to be installed.

  Allen Bradley ABKT Interchange (this software operates on windows 95 only and is no longer supported).
  This includes the following interfaces:
  PLC 5 via Interchange
  SLC 500 via Interchange.

Selection of Interfaces

You use the Select Module Wizard or the Select Interface Wizard on job first run to install interfaces. 

Setup of Interfaces

To set com ports etc, use the MicroScan Interface and PLC Interfaces links on the Setup Tools screen. These links will be visible according to the type of interfaces selected.

Recorder Lite Interface Limits

Recorder lite software allows the use of up to 4 stations of any type on a single COM port. It does not support PLC Interfaces or using stations via Ethernet (2100-NET, 2100-A16-NET).
