Recorder User Help
Alarm Global Notify

This window appears automatically to advise the user that an alarm has occurred.

It appears if the line has Global Notify set, or the Alarm Settings setting Global Notify Mode is set to All Global Notify is set when the lines alarm occurs.

It gives details of the number of alarms, and details of each alarm such as Page, Line label, Value, time and date of alarm.
This window remains visible until it is manually closed, either by clicking the X on the window, or by clicking Close, or by clicking Alarm Status to go to the Alarm Status screen.

If Line 1 causes an alarm and displays the global notify window, then it is manually closed, then another alarm occurs on Line 2, the notify window will be displayed again, and Line 2 will be displayed. Line 1 will also be displayed if it is still in alarm at the time that Line 2 alarm occurs.

The Alarms are listed in order or Pages & Lines, not in order that the alarms occurred.

If the MicroScan program is minimized in the task bar when the Global Notify window is displayed, it will be restored to a window.

Note:

  1. If the alarm has been auto reset by a Reset On Hour and announced as an alarm again, the time and date shown in the Global Notify window will be the most recent time that the alarm has occurred, and not the first time that the alarm occurred.
  2. It is possible to have the Auto Alarm Cancel and Global Notify windows displayed at the same time, as the Recorder is notifying the user of previous alarms that have been Auto Cancelled, and any new global notify alarms that have occurred.
  3. Once an alarm has displayed the Global Notify window, its information in the window will remain visible until the Global Notify window has been manually closed, even if the alarm is no longer in alarm.
  4. When the global notify dialog box is displayed, the Reading shown for each line is the value at the time that the alarm occurred. Thus if the reading may be different from the current reading if some time has elapsed since the alarm occurred.
