The Version 5 tags have several changes from those used in Version 4.

Tag Organisation

In Version 4, tags were grouped as Input Tags for to read in values on the mimic screens, Output Tags to write values from Mimic buttons and Alarm Outputs for tag alarm outputs. In version 5, these limits do not apply. A flat database of up to 5000 tags are provided and any can be used for Mimic displays and Buttons and tag alarm outputs.

A tag will be scanned if needed for a mimic display, but if it is only used by a button to output values, or used as an alarm output, it can be set to "Output Only" which will stop the tag from being scanned unless its value is needed for display when a button has been pressed.

As a side effect of the flat database, it should be noted that previous settings that applied only to input tags can now be used on what was Output Tags, i.e alarms.

• Math Digital
